Senioren St. Raphael’s Blacktown

Die St. Raphael’s Senioren-Gemeinschaft zählt derzeit 110 Mitglieder. Jeden ersten Mittwoch eines Monats treffen wir uns um 10.00h zur Messe in der Kirche (138 Reservoir Road, Blacktown NSW 2148) mit anschließender Begegnung im Gemeindezentrum. Bei diesem Seniorentreff singen wir gemeinsam Volkslieder, lauschen lustigen Geschichten, tauschen Erinnerungen aus, erfreuen uns eines herzhaften deutschen Essens und schließen dann mit Kaffee und Kuchen. Besondere Feste fallen auch nicht zu kurz: Fasching/Fasnet im Februar, Muttertag im Mai und Vatertag im September wie auch unsere große Adventsfeier am zweiten Mittwoch im Dezember.

Am jeweils letzten Mittwoch eines jeden Monats unternehmen wir Tagesausflüge zu interessanten und sehenswerten Orten in Sydneys wunderschöner Umgebung. Dabei genießen wir Morning Tea in einem friedvollen Garten oder Park und nehmen unseren Lunch in einem Club oder Restaurant auf dem Weg zu uns.

Seniors St. Raphael’s Blacktown

St. Raphael’s Seniors Group boasts 110 members at present and about 70-80 of these meet every first Wednesday of the month for holy Mass in the church at 10.00am and a friendly social gathering in the community hall afterwards. We sing German folk songs, listen to some funny stories, exchange old reminiscences, enjoy a hearty home cooked lunch, followed by coffee and continental cakes. We celebrate Fasching in February, Mother’s Day in May, Father’s Day in September and have a solemn Christmas celebration on the second Wednesday in December.

On the last Wednesday of each month we organize day tours to interesting and sight worthy places in and around Sydney, enjoy morning tea in a restful garden or park and partake of lunch in one of the many popular clubs or restaurants on the tour.

We are part of the St. Raphael’s Catholic Community and support the feasts and celebrations this Community organises.
