07 Aug COVID-19 UPDATE
The NSW Government is strongly encouraging greater use of masks in high-risk public settings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
AND SO DO WE!
The Government advice specifically recommends:
Ø the use of face masks in indoor settings where physical distancing is hard to maintain, such as on public transport or in supermarkets
Ø the use of face masks (where practical) in indoor settings with a higher risk of transmission, such as for the staff of hospitality and customer-facing venues i.e. cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs
Ø during attendance at places of worship.
Wearing a mask in any of these settings is not mandatory but is highly recommended, especially in areas where there has been community transmission.
A mask is not a substitute for physical distancing.
An additional recommendation:
As more people from different social circles mingle the higher are the number of clusters that might develop.
Therefore, we kindly ask you NOT to attend mass at different churches but choose when possible and reasonable ONLY ONE church and congregation with which you should remain for the foreseeable future. The parishes that were forced to close recently, due to COVID-19, were mostly those where COVID-19 had been brought in by people coming from outside the parish (for example, when attending funerals).
SUMMING UP:
PLEASE, WEAR A MASK AT CHURCH, and
PLEASE RESTRICT ATTENDANCE TO ONE CHURCH.
